Taylor Swift, que se dio a conocer gracias a su álbum Fearless, con Love Story como su gran éxito a nivel internacional, no está teniendo el éxito esperado con su tercer álbum de estudio, ya que ninguno de sus últimos temas ha conseguido destacar en listas. El tercer single que se extrae desde Speak Now se titula "Mean", con el que intenta recuperar la senda del éxito. De momento no le ha ido nada mal, llegando a alcanzar el #10 en Canadá y el #11 en U.S. Billboard Hot 100.
