Eurovision Song Contest: Moscow 2009

Un año más, se ha celebrado el festival de Eurovisión, esta vez en Rusia después de que este país ganara el festival en 2008, con Dima Bilan como representante. En esta 54ª edición, las apuestas eran claras, y apuntaban hacia Noruega como ganadora, y no se equivocaban. Con record absoluto de votaciones, 387 puntos, cuando el anterior récord estaba en 292 puntos, de Lordi con Hard Rock Hallelujah en 2006. Todos los países han votado este año a Noruega, con el joven representante Alexander Rybak, de tan solo 23 años.

This night has been held the Eurovision Song Contest, this time in Russia, so it was the winner of the last one in 2008, with Dima Bilan as its representant. In this 54th edition, all the bets pointed Norway as the winner, and they didn't fail. With a new record of votes, 387, breaking the previous record set by Lordi and Hard Rock Hallelujah in 2008 with 292 votes. All the countries have voted the young singer Alexander Rybak, only 23 years old.

Mención especial quiero hacer a otras canciones del festival, que en mi opinión, bien podían haber ganado también, sin desmerecer ni cuestionar al ganador. En segunda posición, muy merecida, quedó Islandia, con unos resultados bastante mediocres en anteriores ediciones, pero posición merecida la de este año con la cantante Yohanna y la canción Is It True?, con 218 votos, una immensidad de votos por debajo del ganador, que casi dobla los votos.

I want to make a special mention to other songs that I think they could have won the Contest, but without detracting winner's quality. The runner-up of the Contest has been Iceland, with low results in previous editions, but with a deserved position this year with the singer Yohanna and the song Is It True? and 218 votes, in a long distance with the winner.

Y el tercer puesto se lo llevó un país con pocas participaciones hasta la fecha, pero con bastante éxito, Azerbaijan. Su cantante es bastante conocido en algunos países europeos, Arash, y ha quedado tercero con Always y 207 votos.

And the third positions has been for Azerbaijan, a country with a few but successful participations in the Contest. The singer is known in many european countries, Arash, and has been third with the song Always and 207 votes.

Otros países como Malta, Dinamarca o Turquía, han tenido actuaciones destacables, aunque con menos éxito, a excepcion de Reino Unido, con la gran participación de Jade Ewen y It's My Time, después de años con desastrosos resultados, alcanzando un buen 5º puesto.
